Saibaba Ki Chawadi

Sai Baba Chavadi

💫Chavadi is a very special place visited by the pilgrims who visit Shirdi. It is said about this place that Sai Baba spent some nights here during his last years.

💫The Chavadi is located near the Dwarkamai Masjid from where the procession of Sai Baba was taken out in a palanquin by his followers, hence the devotees of Sai Baba consider this place to be very special.

💫Sai Baba spent countless precious moments of the last decade of his life at the Chavadi.

💫 Chavadi was traditionally a village meeting place. Here the disputes were settled by the village heads.

💫Once it so happened that one day in Shirdi, during the monsoon, the Dwarkamai (mosque), where Baba lived, caused water to drip from the top of the roof. Leaked walls made the land unsuitable for sheltering them. As a result, because of his love and concern for Baba, his devotees lovingly asked him to vacate the mosque and instead he was taken to the chavadi.Soon after, Baba started spending alternate nights at the Chavadi and the place was sanctified by his presence and regular aartis in his honor. After Baba's Mahasamadhi, the institute took over the chavadi, and until the late 1930s, it was used for storing books and accommodating pilgrims.

💫 The Palkhi that we see today is the only original and traditional procession from Baba's padukas and (Dwarkamai) to Chavadi.
